Vinyasa Yoga for Green Tara

Compassion in Action

By: Silvia Mordini

Green Tara is usually depicted as a compassionate being (Mother Buddha) ready to step down from her lotus throne to offer comfort and protection from all of the sufferings we experience in the world.

This was filmed with the mantra om tare tuttare ture swaha in mind.

Mantra Meaning: From your heart of compassion, please help me to let go and release all blockages so I may have peace, clarity and happiness.

In the teachings of the Dalai Lama he reminds us “that when we chant the Green Tara mantra, we are not simply asking for Tara’s blessings and help with our lives and our “real world” problems. Actually, we are also asking to be liberated from the misery of the mental delusions and negative emotions that blind us to true freedom, and to achieve the same enlightened body, speech and mind that Tara represents, not only for our own benefit, but for the benefit of all sentient beings.”

For me being near the water always promotes the feminine, lunar energy of nurturance. I need that in my life and I know you do too. Jim Beckwith’s sound vibration makes this mantra even more powerful. I appreciate how he adds in English lyrics as well, “the secret of feeling alive is to love.”

All of the quotes within the video are from Rumi whose writings to me exemplify universal LOVE.
