8 Ways To Change Your Habits

Yoga Inspires Change. Over the last 15 years of spiritual practice, I can honestly say the single most important Yogic lesson I have learned is: To Create a Change, we have to Change Something. The result of our choices is constantly creating new unique personal alchemies. This is how yoga transforms us. It is about taking the personal growth we experience on the mat into making the changes we want in our lives. Anytime you want to transform and move beyond your limitations, to me, this is the Alchemy of Yoga. We all form habits as we go through life. Yoga teaches us that even our good habits keep us from growing spiritually. This is because habits are by definition an attachment to a pattern of behavior, or a form…

THE NEW DREAM, HEAVEN ON EARTH

You can be loving all the time. This is our own choice. Even there is no reason to love, you can choice love because to love makes you really really very happy. Love in action only produce happiness. Love will give you inner peace. It changes perception of everything. You can see everything with the eyes of love. You can be aware of that there is love all around you. When you live this way, there is no longer a fog in your mind. This way of life is possible, and it’s in your hands. With love you can create your own heaven on earth. – Don Miguel Ruiz How can you practice love today? Sending someone a kind note? Thinking kind thoughts? Or observing nature’s simple beauty?

Mantras + Chanting

The word mantra means “tool” for the mind”. From the Shiva Sutras: man= to reflect, to be aware, tra= that which saves: “mental awareness by which one feels one’s identity with the highest reality enshrined in a mantra, and thus saves oneself from a sense of separateness and difference characteristic of the world”. Sally Kempton says that mantra are articulated sounds that approximate the “unsounded sound,” the vibration of the infinite that throbs in the silence of pure consciousness. High, subtle vibrations are said to be embedded in the syllables of mantra; they are said to be sounds heard by sages long ago (Rishis). Yoga Sutra II.33: vitarka badhane pratipaksha bhavanam Upon being harassed by negative thoughts, one should cultivate counteracting thoughts. MANTRAS + BENEFITS OM SHAM SHANAYA NAMAHA Promotes calm…

Growth is Uneven by Design

Written by Silvia Mordini Feeling the #newmoon in Taurus in #Bali. Lovingly embracing growth in ways that will be sustainable physically and emotionally. Allowing for growth to be uneven so I remain gentle with my heart. Throughout my life the spiritual truth that has resonated with me was one of unevenness, the concept that we do not grow at the same rate in all areas of our lives. Our growth is uneven by design. Take your life and visually divide it into four major sectors: finances, work, health and relationships. Which piece dominates your daily existence? I share Anais Nin’s belief that: “We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another, unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one…

How Stressed Out are You?

By: Silvia Mordini, featured on DoYouYoga.com Have you ever noticed a low level of anxiety constantly gnawing away inside you? Do you find yourself clenching your jaw, grinding your teeth, fidgeting, seeking meaningless distraction, anything just to handle the stress or get away from the tension you feel just being you? Yoga calls this Dukha. It means suffering, imbalance, despair, anguish, anxiety, irritation, uncertainty and more. You get the idea. If you feel Dukha, you are not alone. Despite the fact we have more comforts and material possessions, more freedom and more mobility than any people in modern history, Americans are awash in Dukha.
