Thank you to each of you who are taking the time to read my story, my name is Karrie Lynn and I am a mother of two beautiful, incredible children who are my daily inspiration towards achieving my dream of becoming a yoga instructor. For me, yoga is more then just a career but a journey to self-discovery through physical and emotional strength and a healthy way of life where I can help others find themselves and a healthy lifestyle. I was diagnosed with severe scoliosis before I was 10 years old and wore a Milwaukee back brace 24 hours a day, with the exception of showering and an extracurricular activity. After years of wearing my back brace, my spine was protruding into my lung and surgery was my only option. I then underwent two surgeries, my first surgery was 12 hours and a month later I had my second surgery which was 14 hours. Then followed the long journey to recovery where I learned how to sit, walk, bathe and heal. Those years were not easy but they help me build incredible strength within myself and have made me the woman I am today.
Every day I count my blessings and I am thankful to be back brace free while I have 3 Harrington rods and hardware along my spine to support me and provided me with a beautiful chance at life. I have accepted that I will never be pain-free but that I have the chance to choose a career in which my body and mind can continue to recover as I help others. With your support, I will be able to put myself through the 200-hour RYT training needed to become a yoga teacher and not only change my life but help others do the same. The proceeds donated will be used for my training tuition, travel costs, books, proper practice clothing and daycare cost, since I am a stayed at home mother of two. If you have any questions or would like to hear more about my story please feel free to message me, I sincerely appreciate all of your support.
“Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears.”
Sincerley, Karrie Lynn
