Alchemy of Yoga: Learning Balance Through Ayurveda

As part of Alchemy of Yoga’s 200-Hour  Teacher Training Program, you will dive deeply into nourishing the physical, mental, and spiritual bodies through Ayurveda. In Sanskrit, Ayur means life and Veda means wisdom or knowledge. Ayurveda is the innate wisdom of life and our bodies.

Often referred to as The Mother of all Healing, the principles of Ayurveda promote balance to maintain the mind, body, and spirit so that disease may be prevented.

According to Ayurveda, the universe and all living creatures are comprised of the five elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. Each individual has different compositions of these energies, referred to as Doshas.

  • Vata Dosha: Air + Space
  • Pitta Dosha: Fire + Water
  • Kapha Dosha: Earth + Water

In preparation for teacher training, Alchemy of Yoga provides you with resources so that you may discover your Ayurvedic Dosha.

Silvia is an enthusiastic teacher of Ayurveda, and will guide you in understanding how balance is influenced by your Dosha, diet and lifestyle choices, the four seasons, work environment, and relationships.
